I picked up
the plans for this table from Bill
Vondane's site. It's a pretty good plan and simple to put together.
Bill of materials for one 3' x 8' work table
1 |
3/4" x 4' x 8' particle board - ripped to 3' x 8' sheet |
1 |
1/2" x 4' x 8' particle board - ripped to 3' x 90" sheet |
10 |
2" x 4" x 8' Premium Studs |
#8 x 2 1/2" Wood Screws |
Carpenter's Wood Glue |
You will be building the table upside down from the top down. make
the top frame first, it will be small enough to allow the table top to overhang the frame
by 1 1/2" all the way around. The lip is good for clamping things to it.
Then put the particle board top on. Turn it over and attach the legs and shelf
braces (leave the 8" bottom outer leg pieces uncut until the end and cut them
to fit), then turn it over and put the shelf in... |

This is a picture of
the finished
table. The table was shortened from the plans to
63" (5'3"), in
order to fit in primer
booth. The top is
covered in
mesh screen so the parts
will
stay in place when
spraying.
